Frequently Asked Questions

We hope that we have answered any questions or queries that you might have, but if you can't find what you're looking for then please do get in touch!

How does it work?

When you arrive for your two hour session, you'll have time to look around at all the pottery that we have for you to choose from. Once you've made your decision, grab a seat at the table and we'll take your order and fetch your pottery for you. Then it's time to get creative! Use the paints, brushes and sponges to decorate your pottery however you like. We keep hold of your painted pottery at the end of your session and glaze and fire them in our onsite kiln. You can collect the finished pieces 7-14 days later!

Do I have to book?

You are more than welcome to pop in and see if we have space, but we always recommend booking in advance to ensure that you're not disappointed. You can find our online booking system HERE. If you are booking for more than 5 people then give us a call so that we can make sure that we have space!

How much does it cost?

All of our pottery is individually priced and we generally stock pieces that range in price from £3 up to £25. We also charge a studio fee of £3 per painter, to cover the cost of the paints used and the glazing and firing of your pottery. If you paid a table deposit then this will be taken off of your bill on the day.

How long does it take?

It really does vary, but most people will spend around an hour painting. Children and smaller pieces may be finished quickly but groups and larger pieces may take you a little longer. When you book in, you are guaranteed a two hour slot, but don't forget that it can take a little while to choose your pottery and decide on your design! If you haven't finished at the end of the two hours, you can always book in for another day to finish off!

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Just your creativity! We provide all the paints, brushes, tips and tricks. However, if you have your own brushes or something specific that you would like to use then you are more than welcome. Feel free to bring along an apron if you would prefer to cover up, although as the paint is water based and washable it’s definitely not a necessity!

Do you serve food and drink?

We serve hot and cold drinks, as well as a selection of treats for you to enjoy while you paint. We are also fully licensed, so during our evening events you have the option of buying alcoholic drinks too!

How old do you have to be?

At Serendipity we encourage everyone to get creative, there are no age limits or restrictions. All of our paints are food safe and non-toxic so they are safe for even the tiniest hands! We do ask that any children (under the age of 14) painting with us are fully supervised.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

We have plenty of space in the main part of the building for wheelchairs, but unfortunately due to being situated in an old building, the narrow corridors that lead to the toilets make accessing them a little more tricky!

Can I bring my dog with me?

Of course! We love meeting all of your pooches.

When can I collect my finished pottery?

Items are usually fired and finished 7-14 days after painting, but we'll send you a message to let you know when it's ready to be collected. If its been longer than two weeks and you're still waiting to hear then please do get in touch! If you are unable to collect, then we can post your finished pottery to you. There are delivery costs and restrictions involved with this so please do speak to us about this option.

Can I put my pottery in the dishwasher and microwave?

We recommend hand washing your pieces to keep them looking their best for years to come. Using a dishwasher can cause the colours to fade and cracks in the glaze.

Pottery pieces are not microwave safe.

Can I book Serendipity Creative Café for my party?

Of course! Give us a call or take a look at our PARTIES & EVENTS page for more information.
